We are currently accepting students for our new Morning School-aged ABA Social Skills Group!

  • For Children who are motivated to interact with others
  • Offers a supportive and engaging way for kids to build friendships and develop key social skills
  • Small Class – just four children
  • Two Experienced Therapists
  • Sample Skills:
    • Learning to take turns
    • Sharing
    • Following rules in games
    • Flexible behavior
    • Finding common interests
    • Conversational skills
    • Self-regulation
    • Being friendly
    • Executive skills necessary to navigate social situations
    • Build Confidence, Connection and Joy within the Social World

  • This program combines Speech Therapy with an ABA-driven Skills Building Program

  • Day and Afterschool Sessions Available

  • Your child will learn:

    • Communication Skills

    • Language Skills

    • Life Skills

    • Improve their Attention

    • Improve their Executive Skills:

      • Working Memory – Ability to hold and change information in the mind

      • Mental Flexibility – Ability to adapt the changes and switch between different tasks and thoughts

      • Inhibitory Control – Ability to control impulses and resist distractions

      • Focussed and Sustained Attention – Important for Learning

      • Inhibitory Control – Ability to control impulses and resist distractions

      • Emotional Regulation – Ability to control and manage Emotions

      • Self-Monitoring – Ability to observe and manage one’s own thoughts and actions

      • Self-Control – Ability to resist impulses and make thoughtful decisions

      • Planning – Ability to set goals, break down large tasks into manageable steps, and prioritize

      • Organization – Ability to structure and arrange information and tasks

      • Time Management – Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines

      • Initiation – Ability to start work and not avoid it

         

 

  • All teaching includes the following:

We Teach Social Skills!

 

 

We offer two kinds of Autism Social Skills Groups:

–

1.- Social Skills for Independent Learners –  Ages 5-7 and 6-10

 

 

2.- Social Skills for Learners who need more Support – Ages 5-7 and 6-10

1. For Children with Autism who are Independent Learners (fully integrated into regular school classrooms)

 

 

  • This Group is ONGOING and for Children with Autism who are FULLY INTEGRATED into their school classrooms and need very little one-to-one support

  • Ages 5-7 and 6-10

  • Small Group sizes: 5 to 8 children

  • This group meets weekday evenings 4.30-6.30pm

  • Weekly Sessions are 2 hours long

 

  • Topics Include:

    • Finding Common Interests

    • Starting Conversations

    • Cooperation and Conversation Skills

    • Sharing, Turn-Taking and Compromising

    • Negotiating with a Friend

    • Understanding other’s Body Language

    • Understanding Social Rules and Conventions

    • Understanding and Respecting each other

    • Understanding Idioms

    • How to begin to not have misunderstandings

 

  • We accept OAP FUNDING

 

2. For Children with Autism who need More Support (not fully integrated into regular school classrooms)

 

 

  • This Group is for Children with Autism who NEED SUPPORT but want to have friends

  • Motivation for Friendship is necessary to be part of this group

  • Ages 5-7 and 6-10

  • Small Group sizes: 5 to 8 children

  • This group meets weekday evenings 4.30-6.30pm

  • Weekly Sessions are 2 hours long

 

  • Topics Include:

    • Asking others to play

    • Following social rules

    • Playing with others

    • Cooperation and Conversation Skills

    • Sharing, Turn-Taking and Compromising

    • Understanding Social Rules and Conventions

    • Understanding and Respecting each other
