Join our ongoing Play-based Communication

and Social Skills Group:

 

 

For Children 3-5 years old with Autism.

 

• Ongoing group

• Parent training at no extra cost – Attend each session with your child and learn how to help them learn!
  

• Ages 3-5

• Small Group sizes: 5 to 8 children.

• Morning and Afterschool availability
  

• Weekly Sessions are 2 hours long

• Topics Include:

  • Learning to say Hello and Good-Bye

  • Learning to Get Ready for Class (Putting indoor Shoes on, etc.)

  • Learning to Walk Indoors with Friends

  • Learning to Request Items – vocal and non-vocal skills (both are important)

  • Learning to Request Attention from People

  • Learning Play Skills

  • Learning to Share Toys and Take-Turns

  • Asking for Help and Learning to Refuse with Words

  • Learning to Wait for a Short Time

  • Learning to Follow Directions from a Parent

  • Sitting Beside a Friend to have a Snack and in Circle Time

  • Learning to Eat a Snack Independently

  • Singing Songs and Dancing with Friends

  • Beginning to Understand Social Rules and Conventions

  • Learning to Clean Up after Play

  • Learning to Ask for Washroom

  • Learning to Improve Communication Skills

  • Learning to Solve Social Problems with Words
